Pyrdanti - Pyrenean Mountain Dogs

About Us

Pyrdanti Pyreneans are a small select kennel. Currently we have 10 adults and 2 puppies and we live as a family at Woodside in Kent. We breed occasionally and always for type and temperament.

I saw my first Pyrenean Mountain Dog at Crufts in 1995 and fell in love with the Dog, his name was Joe (Penpriory Shades of Blue) and he had just won Best Puppy. He was bred and owned by Noel & Gill Melling at "Penpriory" in Preston, Lancashire. They had been breeding successfully for 10 years. They repeated this mating and my first Pyrenean Ski was born on 06 August 1995.

During the 6 months that I waited for Ski, I read books on the breed and attended a number of shows. I knew the Breed was for me.

Joe (Penpriory Shades of Blue) sired a litter to Misty (Odyssey in Blue at Shadowmist), and puppies were born on 14 March 1996. I acquired my second Pyrenean: Spook. Two years later, Spook was mated to Mercedes Whispering Pire. This was a very successful litter bred by Jenny and Russell Irons and produced our first two champions Maisie and Dottie .This was the beginning of Pyrdanti.

Duke and Ruby are from the first litter bred at "Pyrdanti" on 1 April 2002. Roxy was imported from Holland later the same year. Millie is from our second litter. Our third litter produced Remy and Anouk. Diaz is from Ruby's first litter, whilst Henry and Bella are from Ruby's second litter. Lola and Dizzy are Anouk's puppies.

Our aim at Pyrdanti is to own and show happy, healthy dogs. We spend time together in the house, and play outside in the garden. Our temperaments are excellent and we are all hip-scored. Pyrdanti Pyreneans aim to be true to the breed standard and we will continue the work of Penpriory (Noel & Gill Melling).
